The Fields | Moonlit Meadows

Welcome to Moonlit Meadows, or Meadow Moon for short! We're a realistic wolf role play site and we have high hopes on getting members who are literate and active.

To get started, take a look at the rules. Once you've done that, it's time to choose a canon character or make a custom, and begin role playing!

You can have a full share in Moonlit Meadows. Introduce yourself to everyone, get into character, and make a name for yourself. Every member here is a valued one and we want you to have fun with no obligations except to become a better role player in the process!

Since before any of the living can remember, the two packs of the Moonlit Meadows have lived here in these lands, competing for prey but living in general harmony with one another. With the plentiful game and the beautiful, seclusive atmosphere, the area has come to be known as a Utopia for wolves of all kinds. Packs, loners, even orphaned pups have been seen to travel across treacherous lands, full of human hunters and dangerous canyons, to find this safe haven and choose a pack to side with. The Alphas here are powerful individuals and have created for their families a peaceful way of life, though it comes with the cost of great loyalty and hard work. Who would ever doubt the strength and genius of the Utopia?

There are some who have grown envious of the Meadow's power. Neighbors outside of the valley, where deserts and volcanoes prove merciless, have long desired to take the Utopia for their own. Strong, young males (even females) eager to lead their armies have come and challenged the leaders of both packs. Together, the duo drove off the disrupting outsiders, but it was not easy and many lives were sacrificed. Before the spilled blood had even washed away, the leaders established a system - a new way of life, which they polished off in a matter of generations.

They organized the rankings of their pack. The biggest and most skilled fighters became Soldiers, and were given the responsibility of protection. The few swiftest and most reliable became Scouts, who were knighted as emergency messengers and relays in the fiercest of battles. Those whos' talents ran with the incognito became Stalkers, the best trackers and spies in the whole pack. And last but not least, the ones with the gentle paws and no particular calling took on the roles of the Omega, becoming nannies to all the young in the pack, even practicing basic medicines. Can anybody doubt the organization and genius of the Utopia? For countless seasons, the system has worked and it has helped build populations within the two packs that they have not seen in all their days. Every challenger is left broken with humiliation.

Peace abounds... Or, so it did, for a while.

There are scandalous shadows in the recent history of the Moonlit Meadows... A few years ago, Rorik, the son of the Forest Fire Alpha, fell in love with a River Rapids Omega. It is a story that many flinch when it is referenced to. Rorik was found and killed in cold blood by a River Rapids Stalker. The two packs were thrown into chaos and came very close to anouncing war against one another. It was only when an ambush from a neighboring pack forced them to work together once again. Time has not healed all wounds, however. Some wolves still harbor grudges, and now there are even whispers of a conspiracy and treason on the rise. Dark-hearted wolves are feigning loyalty to the Utopia, while plotting to overthrow it. Perhaps it may be easy for such a thing to happen, now that the River Rapids and Forest Fire wolves are already at odds with one another...

The Utopia needs a hero, and you need to decide if you're willing to be one. What path will you follow?

The packs continue to be at odds with one another, while strangers from beyond are appearing at their doorsteps. With the Autumn weather starting to cool down, the wolves are thinking ahead to the coming cold snaps and the harsh reality they bring with them. On the other hand, Winter is mating season, so on top of trying to fatten themselves up, the Forest Fire and River Rapids wolves are starting feeling that desire to start a family, knowing they have just months left. With the meadows preoccupied, the traitors should find it easy to blend in...

Mountain of Stars

Are you good at telling stories? The Mountain of Stars is an unnaturally shaped granite boulder; though it is overgrown by mildew, it is recognizably in the shape of a stocky jaguar, with stars for eyes. None of the wolves know how it got there, and they have no inclining of it being manmade; but it is a special place, because here is where the elders teach the pups about the history of the River Rapids Pack. And, this is where the old wolves prefer to live their last day.

Weasel Hill

Pups and weak wolves should not come here alone. This particular hill is the central home to a dozen weasels, and they keep themselves well hidden. In wintertime, the Alpha usually brings two other wolves with him/her to make sure the population of the weasels are in check, because they compete for food and they are dangerous to the young wolves.

Abandoned Bear Den

Several years ago, a grizzly bear lived in this very den. Before he died, this bear had killed eight River Rapid wolves during its lifetime. But because of how well hidden it is among the edge of the field, mothers will often bring the pups here as an escape from some sort of danger within the rest of the territory. Note, this den is a symbolic place, and no mother wolf should ever disrespect the lives of those killed by the bear, by making her birth den here.

Board Information & Statistics

The Fields

Like the meadow in the Forest Fire territory, the fields are colorful and treeless, but a tad bit hillier. Hunting is most often done here and wolves of all ages come here to hang out or relax. There are many dens here where mothers like to come to give birth, just like the Forest Fire pack.
