Welcome to Meadow in the Moonlight, or Moonlit Meadows for short! We're a realistic wolf role play site and we have high hopes on getting members who are literate and active. If you have any questions or concerns, send them my way and I won't bite.
To get started, take a look at the rules and read them thouroughly. Once you've done that, it's time to choose a canon character or make a custom, and begin role playing!
You can have a full share in Moonlit Meadows. Introduce yourself to everyone, get into character, and make a name for yourself. Every member here is a valued one and we want you to have fun with no obligations except to become a better role player in the process!
The most important board, this place has all of the rules for this site, and they must be followed. No exceptions. Be good and you'll only have to read them once! :]
A lot of times it's more fun to create a story behind your character that leaves room for other people to build off of. Were you thinking the same thing? Come here to suggest/ request a mini-plot. Also located here are boards for all kinds of character adoptions. Did your wolf have pups that need to be adopted? Do you want to create a character for someone else to play that is connected to your character? Do all of this here.
In the center of the thick, green forests is a huge clearing where no trees ever grow. In the center is a rock that can fit about 20 wolves on its flat surface, and that's usually where the alphas like to spend their time napping. There is a crevice in the rock where it is dark and cool, and wolves can come here to sleep, eat, or cool off in the summer heat.
Thick forests with lots of trees. It makes hunting difficult, but it's also easier to stay hidden and sneak up close to prey. Most of the smaller prey is caught here, and rarely can wolves catch bigger prey in this tight space.
A beautiful place in spring, the meadow is a place where young wolves come to play, old wolves come to relax or tell stories, or even hunting parties come to stalk herds that come here for grazing. There are also some random dens when the meadow sometimes hills upwards, where mothers can come to give birth.
A relatively small spring that narrows into a river and leads off into the River Rapids territory. The water's temperature is always the same because it's a spring, and the water is very cold. It's a good place to come if you get overheated in the spring or summer. The water is crystal clear, making it a beautiful sight.
This is a good sized lake where pack-less wolves usually hang around. The lake is connected on both sides to a river. On one side, the river slopes away out of the reach of both rival packs, but the other side narrows and connects to the gentle river of the spring located in the Forest Fire, mixing with the cold spring water. The current of the water from then on gets faster and soon becomes rapids, and eventually races into the River Rapids territory.
This cave has been here for eons, and has been passed down through stories in each pack as the place where the first pack formed. Two young wolves met here and quickly fell in love. Soon a new pack was formed and eventually the wolves branched out into two different packs, today known as the Forest Fire pack and the River Rapids pack. Because of its romantic background and beautiful scenery, young wolves often come here to meet in private on a romantic getaway.
The soil in the deadlands has very little nutrients in it. Thus, the plant life that grows here is very far and inbetween. Wolves who come here should not expect to be alone the whole time; any creature could be spotted from a long ways off. There is not much here but insects and lots of black dirt.
A marshy, wet area next to the deadlands. Always covered in at ten inches of water, the swamps are full of dangers - but also excitement. Many dead trees provide a dry seat for wolves. Find fish here, as well as deadly alligators. Not many wolves know what lies beyond the other end of the swamps because it's so vast and distant. This serves as a cut-off for the Meadow Moon territory.
A cliff that rises above the rapids below. The cliff eventually slopes steeply down and meets with the rushing waters below, but the edge of the cliff up top has often times been the death of some wolves when they accidently fell. The Alphas sometimes like to come here and watch their territory from a good view.
A beautiful and tremendous tree with flowing branches and leaves and plenty of shade. Around it grow lots of colorful flowers and are home to butterflies and dragonflies. Wolves come here to relax or rest, or socialize. Pups come here to play, too.
A dried out gorge surrounded by trees where the wolves usually come to sleep. There are holes, dens, and crevices to shelter in under the sides of the small gorge. In times of heavy rain, this place fills with flowing water, but its most often a reliable, safe place.
Like the meadow in the Forest Fire territory, the fields are colorful and treeless, but a tad bit hillier. Hunting is most often done here and wolves of all ages come here to hang out or relax. There are many dens here where mothers like to come to give birth, just like the Forest Fire pack.
Find sections in here for you to advertise your site on. There is a link-back board, an affiliation board, and a first-timer advertising board. Whatever you do, do not post any sort of request in the Cbox concerning ads.
Feel free to browse our old, old role play threads. Yikes, they might be ancient! Why don't you members check it out every so often, see how better of a role player you've become? (:

Since before any of the living can remember, the two packs of the Moonlit Meadows have lived here in these lands, competing for prey but living in general harmony with one another. With the plentiful game and the beautiful, seclusive atmosphere, the area has come to be known as a Utopia for wolves of all kinds. Packs, loners, even orphaned pups have been seen to travel across treacherous lands, full of human hunters and dangerous canyons, to find this safe haven and choose a pack to side with.
The Alphas here are powerful individuals and have created for their families a peaceful way of life, though it comes with the cost of great loyalty and hard work. Who would ever doubt the strength and genius of the Utopia?
There are some who have grown envious of the Meadow's power. Neighbors outside of the valley, where deserts and volcanoes prove merciless, have long desired to take the Utopia for their own. Strong, young males (even females) eager to lead their armies have come and challenged the leaders of both packs. Together, the duo drove off the disrupting outsiders, but it was not easy and many lives were sacrificed. Before the spilled blood had even washed away, the leaders established a system - a new way of life, which they polished off in a matter of weeks.
They organized the rankings of their pack. The biggest and most skilled fighters became Soldiers, and were given the responsibility of protection. The few swiftest and most reliable became Scouts, who were knighted as emergency messengers and relays in the fiercest of battles. Those whos' talents ran with the incognito became Stalkers, the best trackers and spies in the whole pack. And last but not least, the ones with the gentle paws and no particular calling took on the roles of the Omega, becoming nannies to all the young in the pack, even practicing basic medicines. Can anybody doubt the organization and genius of the Utopia? For countless seasons, the system has worked and it has helped build populations within the two packs that they have not seen in all their days. Every challenger is left broken with humiliation.
Peace abounds... Or, so it did, for a while.
There are scandalous shadows in the recent history of the Moonlit Meadows... A few years ago, Rorik, the son of the Forest Fire Alpha, fell in love with a River Rapids Omega. It is a story that many flinch when it is referenced to. Rorik was found and killed in cold blood by a River Rapids Stalker. The two packs were thrown into chaos and came very close to anouncing war against one another. It was only when an ambush from a neighboring pack forced them to work together once again.
Time has not healed all wounds, however. Some wolves still harbor grudges, and now there are even whispers of a conspiracy and treason on the rise. Dark-hearted wolves are feigning loyalty to the Utopia, while plotting to overthrow it. Perhaps it may be easy for such a thing to happen, now that the River Rapids and Forest Fire wolves are already at odds with one another...
The Utopia needs a hero, and you need to decide if you're willing to be one. What path will you follow?
The packs are comfortable with their day to day life, and suspect little out of the ordinary. With the Autumn weather starting to cool down, the wolves are thinking ahead to the coming cold snaps and the harsh reality they bring with them. On the other hand, Winter is mating season, so on top of trying to fatten themselves up, the Forest Fire and River Rapids wolves are starting feeling that desire to start a family, knowing they have just weeks left. With the meadows preoccupied, the traitors should find it easy to blend in...
