Out of Character
General Role Playing
Fighting/ Mating/ Etc.
Characters
- One account per person. The Alters plugin will be used to give members an alias profile for each of their characters, used for IC posts.
- Don't be afraid to ask questions about our plot in the chat box, even if you're a guest!
General Role Playing
- All role playing should be in third person.
- Go crazy with liquid time! Meaning you may have several active threads at once.
- There is no word count. One-liners are not acceptable, though, and we expect at least two paragraphs. More is preferred and encouraged.
- You can post with your character anytime in No-Man's-Land, but please don't neglect your pack's territory. If your character knows more loners and enemy wolves than those in their own pack, you have a problem.
- Wolves from either pack should not be in the rival pack's territory unless it is for a particular plot.
- Please try and keep your number of characters in each pack about even (for instance, don't have 4 River Rapid wolves and 1 Forest Fire wolf). Make as many characters as you can handle.
- If you're taking a canon, there is no changing any stats of the character.
- I see a lot of the same stereo-typical "white wolf with blue eyes who rips out throats of every wolf he sees and is a loner." Try to be creative, that character gets boring real quick. On the other hand, mentally crazy wolves are certainly allowed as long as they are different from the norm. Those are fun characters!
Fighting/ Mating/ Etc.
- Fighting happens with wolves, and quite often. If you catch your character in a tussle, there's no need to take it to any other board such as "the Fighting Arena." Wolves don't have a specific place where they fight.
- No power playing, obviously.
- Adult material is not allowed anywhere on any Proboards. We are no exception. If you character picks a mate, nothing graphic may be role played, not even through PM. This is not my rule but is part of Proboards Terms of Service. Just fade to black.
- Fighting is allowed. Wolves don't randomly fight; they have to feel threatened or pushed to their limits. Mating, though it cannot be role played, is allowed, so your character may have offspring.
- Females can give birth anywhere they want (as long as it's not in another territory besides their own). The boards that mention birth of pups are just suggestions/ guidelines if you don't have any idea where to go. Please do NOT make this a graphic event. Preferably you should start out your board with the pups already born. Not a requirement, though.
- No vegetarian wolves please...
- Seasons change in this role play, and I will randomly decide when I want the next season to come. =) They will generally be a month long, each.
Characters
- Please follow the form when creating a character or adopting a character.
- Important! There are a few ranks with limited slots available. Included are loner characters. We have a shop open for the purchase of extras within these ranks.
- A character that becomes inactive, due to a lack of posts for about a month, will be moved into an "inactive" board, with character counts adjusted. Don't make five characters and only role play two of them. It hurts ratios! On that note, high ranks will be stripped from your character if you are inactive for two or more weeks. This includes Alphas, Betas, Stalkers, and Scouts.
- A wolf that hits eight years of age is considered elderly (but not incapable.) They can, however, live to about a maximum of ten to twelve years, but fights will be lost more often and Alphas become more vulnerable.
- I'd prefer it if nobody prearranged mates. It saps the fun out of role play. Get to know several wolves, too, before your "despie wolf" falls for someone. It gets so predictable when you join, create a wolf, make your first post, and your character has already found "the one."
- This is a realistic role play, so no discoloration or human markings. Different-hued eye colors are allowed, so long as they are nothing like hot pink and polka-dotted purple. Along this note, we are currently allowing all kinds of wolf breeds. Gray wolves will be the main breed, and anything other than that will be foreign wolves. In other words, if you're looking to make a Mexican wolf, it should be someone who found their way to the packs in their travels, or maybe is a descendant of a nomad.
- Any questions, ask me! I promise I'll be a very pleasant person. Have fun at the Moonlight Meadows, and don't forget to introduce yourself!
