Living in a pack is a commitment. A strict, but worthwhile life of purpose. Those who join or are born to one of two packs must learn these guidelines and stick to them as best as they can. Some rules are honored more than others, sometimes even to the point of execution-on-site. So read them well, my friends, and live up to your expectations.
- An Alpha's word is law.
- Killing the innocent, injured, or sick is dishonorable on your part. Taking the life of another wolf should be done only in defense. It is dishonor to your pack to kill in cold blood.
- A male should never abandon his duties to his pregnant female. It is his responsibility to provide food, shelter, and protection for her during gestation, whether she wants to give birth near or far away from home.
- A female should never be denied her rights to a birthing den unless such den is already inhabited by another pregnant female or she is invading another pack's territory.
- Killing a pup will result in your execution. Try to escape, and you shall be hunted by a Scout accompanied by a Solider or another wolf deemed worthy.
- Feed the weaker before you feed yourself. An Alpha who eats to satisfaction when the rest of his pack goes hungry is a dishonorable wolf.
- A wolf should not hunt and kill in over-abundance.
- Forest Fire and River Rapids are not to inter-mingle. You cannot form intimate ties of friendship or mating with that of another pack.
- Killing an enemy Omega or pregnant female is a terrible dishonor, even if they are caught on your territory. Scouts are not to be touched either unless there is proof that they have dishonored your rules, such as hunting in your territory. If, however, an enemy Omega or Scout is blatantly disrespecting your pack, his left ear should be bitten off without consequence so he can remember his shame.
- Soldiers never battle in wars unless their Alpha has ordered it. They should never bare fangs at another comrade. Their Alphas' commands are law. Soldiers never kill unless necessary or commanded to.
- Scouts are never to abuse their priveleges and may only step into enemy territory during an emergency or when their Alpha has so commanded.
- A Scout, when relaying an emergency message, must never stop his running duties to tend to something else unless morals otherwise prevail.
- A Stalker must have the highest loyalty to the Alphas and must never speak to a comrade about their missions unless otherwise ordered. They must report everything they see immediately to the Alphas and nobody else. When hunting, however, they are as free as any other wolf.
- Killing an enemy Stalker in your territory is very much looked down upon, but often cannot be debated because of the doubtfulness of integrity. Therefore, a Stalker must never enter another's territory unless commanded.
- A Juvenile has no right to disobey orders from any older wolf.
- Every three moons, the Alphas of both packs will meet at the Meeting Grounds outside of the Cave of Origin in peaceful terms. An Alpha who loses his temper is a disgrace.
- Never let a loner into the pack without first taking them to see the Alphas.
- Mating is a sacred bond and should be done for life. You need not have special permission to mate with your partner, but if the Alphas order otherwise, you must resist your partner. Failure to do so can jeopardize the pack's welfare.
- A pup should never wander alone. Failure to keep a watchful eye on pups is a shameful thing.
- An Omega should not hesitate to help the sick or injured, even if from a different pack.
- Omegas are highly respected and have great knowledge on birthing pups and treating ailments. It would be wise to have an Omega nearby if you are giving birth.
